AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Iraq's Laith Hussein to QNA: Asian Cup Qatar is the Most Successful Edition

Doha, January 29 (QNA) - Iraqi former football player Laith Hussein praised the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 as the most successful edition in the championship's history.
    Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Hussein said that the current edition of the AFC Asian Cup is the most distinguished one at the organizational level, as well as at the level of the distinctive sports facilities and stadiums, and the large public attendance, especially by the Arab fans who created a wonderful atmosphere.
    Hussein noted the need for the Asian Football Confederation to review the regulations regarding the qualification of the four third-place teams in the Group Stage, explaining that it weakens the technical level of the tournament.
    He praised the good performance presented by most of the participating Arab teams which advanced to the Round of 16, noting the important role of the Arab fans in supporting their teams.
    Hussein spoke about his country's national team's progress in the current edition, noting that the team has a very good kickstart and achieved three victories in the Group stage.
    He noted the difficult confrontation awaits the team against Jordan national football team in the Round of 16. (QNA)
