AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Tajikistan Qualifies for Quarter-Final after Beating UAE

Doha, January 28 (QNA) - Tajikistan qualified for the quarter-final of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 for the first time in their history after beating the UAE on penalties (3-5) after the match ended in its original and extra time in a draw (1-1) in the match that brought them together at Ahmed bin Ali stadium.
Vakhdat Khanonov scored for Tajikistan in minute 30, while Khalifa Al Hammadi scored for the UAE in minute 90+5.
In the penalties, Tajikistan's goals were scored by Akhtam Nazarov, Vakhdat Khanonov, Ehson Panjshanbe, Rustam Soirov, and Alisher Shukurov. UAE's goals were scored by Abdulla Idrees, Fabio Lima, and Ali Saleh, while Caio missed the shot. (QNA)
