AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Syria's Midfielder Ammar Ramadan Terms Match against Iran as Difficult

Doha, January 28 (QNA) - Syria's midfielder Ammar Ramadan said he was happy with his country's advancing to the Round of 16 of the ongoing AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 until Feb. 10.
Syria is among the top 4 teams that occupied third place in the six groups by obtaining four points. It began its campaign with a goalless draw against Uzbekistan, followed by 1-0 loss to the Australian team, and 1-0 win over the Indian team. It is set to play a match against the Iranian team in the Round of 16.
In remarks to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Ramadan said team members played well throughout the three matches of the group stage and managed to advance to this round for the first time.
The 23-year-old player added that the team's achievement was the result of a great effort by all the players and the technical staff, and today they were able to make the Syrian fans happy and achieved their goal of go beyond the group stage.
While saying that they respect the Iranian team, he pointed out that the second round will be more difficult than the previous one, with all teams have the same chances, highlighting that they will try to play according to special calculations and the task is not easy at all. (QNA)
