Center for Music Affairs Launches Nagham 2023 Competition

Doha, January 26 (QNA) -The Music Affairs Center, affiliated with the Ministry of Culture, announced the launch of the third edition of the Nagham 2023 competition for the Arab and foreign categories, on Sunday, through its YouTube channel.
The competition includes five episodes, four of which the contestants sing in front of the jury and the audience with a Oud (lute) player. Eight contestants participate in each episode, and in each episode two of them qualify, while the fifth episode features the qualifiers from the previous four episodes, in which the participants perform songs with a band, and then the voting opens to the public until the end of the competition and the announcement of the winners.
The center announced that its episodes will be shown starting next Sunday evening, with 4 episodes per week, including two episodes for the Arab category and two others for the foreign category. The fifth episode will be displayed, and voting opened on Feb.11, followed by the final awards ceremony.
The jury for the Arab and foreign categories consists of the Ali Abdulsattar, Ghanem Shaheen, Yassin Al Ayari, Dana Al Fardan, Dr. Nasser Suhaim, and Maestro Giovanni Basile, in addition to the panel of listeners, which also includes five people. (QNA)
