Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Honors Marmi 2024 Winners

Doha, January 25 (QNA) - HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani crowned Thursday evening the winners of the championships of the 15th Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2024), at Sabkhat Marmi in the Sealine Area.
The coronation ceremony started with His Excellency honoring Marmi 2024 sponsors including the Social & Sport Contribution Fund (Daam) and the Seashore Group.
After that, His Excellency honored the winners of the field tournaments.
Marmi 2024 Chairman Miteb bin Mubarak Al Qahtani praised HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani's patronage and unlimited support for the festival, and his interest in this heritage, offering congratulations to all the winners in the various Marmi 2024 tournaments.
The festival in its fifteenth edition consolidated the success it had achieved over the previous years, and was more distinguished and present at all levels in terms of the numbers participating, whether from Qataris, GCC nationals or from other Arab countries, Al Qahtani said.
The event showed a record participation and professionalism of the competing falconers, he added, which gives reassurance that the goals of the Qatari Al Gannas Association have been achieved in preserving this Qatari and Gulf heritage as a global heritage.
Al Qahtani invited the public to attend the conclusion of the festival with the Al Mazayen Championship in Katara on Saturday evening, pointing out that the falcons competing in this tournament are rare falcons.
For his part, Deputy Chairman of the Marmi Festival, Abdul Wahab bin Omair Al Nuaimi told Qatar News Agency (QNA), that the Marmi 2024 has become an important landmark and station for falconers, whether from Qatar or participants from outside Qatar, as it meets their ambitions through various tournaments.
Al Nuaimi expressed his thanks to HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al-Thani for sponsoring the festival annually, as well as the sponsorship and support of the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) and all supporting bodies that contribute to preserving this heritage.
He congratulated everyone on the success of this edition and the winners of the various festival tournaments, wishing everyone success in the coming seasons. (QNA)
