AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Japan Qualifies to Round of 16 after Beating Indonesia 3-1

Doha, January 24 (QNA) - Japan qualified for the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 after beating Indonesia 3-1 at Al Thumama Stadium in the third and final round of Group D competitions of the tournament. Ayase Ueda scored two goals for Japan, one from a penalty kick in minute 6 and the other in minute 52, while Indonesia's Justin Hubner put the ball in his own net in minute 88. Indonesia's goal came in minute 90+1 by Sandy Walsh. With that score, Japan secured their spot in the round of 16 as second place in Group D with 6 points.
