Qatar's Ministry of Education Holds Dialogue Sessions on Scientific Research, Sustainable Development

Doha, January 24 (QNA) - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education organized dialogue sessions that focused on the role of scientific research and sustainable development in promoting an integrated research and scientific environment, in line with the vision of the State of Qatar, and the importance of encouraging scientific competencies among faculty members in physical education, and concerted efforts to highlight creativity, scientific innovation and development in the field of scientific research. The sessions touched on the procedural research competition for teachers organized by the Ministry within the activities of the National Science Research and Innovation Week, the winners of first places at the secondary school level, the mechanisms and criteria for selecting researchers and research topics, and on the provision of guidance to researchers on the secrets of winning the scientific research competition. The dialogued sessions also addressed the communication style of physical education teachers and its relationship to the psychology of the learner. In this regard, the importance of teachers' awareness of their style in the classroom and their daily communication with students in an innovative, interactive and positive way to achieve the desired educational goals was emphasized. In addition, the sessions discussed scientific research and sustainable development, their concepts and the ways they are achieved. The methods for directing research studies and scientific dissertations and linking them to comprehensive development plans, the role of scientific research in the sports field, and the necessity of encouraging researchers to translate their innovations into successful products and projects, were also covered. The topic of scientific research and physical education was also discussed, and the importance of the role of the physical education teacher in the context of developing scientific research skills among students in grades seven to eleven through scientific projects and research. The Ministry of Education and Higher Education annually organizes the National Science Research and Innovation Week, in collaboration with the Qatar Research Development and Innovation Council including many different and important research events, as well as the establishment of annual exhibitions of scientific research and innovation; to present and highlight the achievements of students in this field.
