Qatar Chamber Urges Businesspersons to Intensify Investments between Qatar, Morocco

Doha, January 24 (QNA) - Qatar Chamber (QC) urged businesspersons to intensify investments between the State of Qatar and the Kingdom of Morocco, especially in light of the existence of broad opportunities and areas of cooperation for the private sector in the two countries to establish trade alliances and partnerships that contribute to enhancing bilateral trade and developing economic cooperation, which will reflect positively on the economies of the two fraternal countries. During the opening of the Moroccan Economic Week in Doha, which was attended by HE Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Doha Mohamed Setri, Vice-President of the Moroccan Exporters Association (MEA) Sonia Mezzour, and a number of businesspersons from both countries, QC board member Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli urged Moroccan companies to explore the Qatari investment climate and opportunities available in various sectors. He noted that the Qatar Chamber is eager to encourage Qatari businessmen and companies to explore the abundant opportunities in Morocco. In his remarks, HE Mohamed Setri, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Doha, expressed that the economic relations between the two countries have witnessed significant development in recent years. He pointed out the existence of numerous memoranda of understanding and agreements aimed at increasing the pace of trade between the two countries. His Excellency noted the need to intensify visits by trade delegations between the two countries, stressing that the Qatari and Moroccan private sectors have a crucial role in enhancing economic and commercial cooperation. HE the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the State of Qatar indicated that Morocco is activating a new development model and ambitious strategies, aimed at facilitating and ensuring the access of Moroccan exports and products to international markets. He stressed the diversity of fields in which Qatari and Moroccan companies can cooperate, such as the agricultural and food sector, the automobile sector, the textile sector, the construction sector, and others. His Excellency reviewed the most important investment components in Morocco and the development of infrastructure, urging Qatari business owners to learn about Moroccan products and investment opportunities available there. For her part, Vice-President of MEA Sonia Mezzour emphasized that the Moroccan Economic Week provides a platform for the MEA to strengthen partnerships with the Qatari side. It facilitates participants in establishing economic alliances and joint ventures with Qatari businesspersons, promoting Moroccan products in the Qatari market, and leveraging the convergence between both nations in several sectors, including energy, agriculture, and tourism. Mohamed bin Ahmed Al Obaidli, HE Mohamed Setri, and Sonia Mezzour took a tour of the exhibition accompanying the Moroccan Economic Week, where they were briefed on products from 15 Moroccan companies in the sectors of foodstuffs, cosmetics, textiles, and building materials. Al Obaidli urged exhibitors to explore the needs of the Qatari market and establish partnerships with their Qatari counterparts, praising the quality of the displayed items. (QNA)
