AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Iraqi's Coach: Vietnam Match Will be Challenging 

 

Doha, January 23 (QNA) - Spanish Jesus Casas, Iraq national football team's coach said that a difficult match awaits his team against Vietnam at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium tomorrow, in the last round of Group D competitions of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
    In the pre-match press conference, Casas said that although Iraq qualified to the round of 16, only that tomorrow's match still matters to the Iraqi team, which seeks a win. He added that he has observed Vietnam's performance in its previous two games, considering that they played well despite having lost, and that Vietnam would want to come out victorious over Iraq in order to leave a good impression in the tournament.
    The Iraq coach said that some of his men are exhausted, however, that there are no injuries among their ranks, and that the players' formation will be announced tomorrow.
    Casas said that he called on his players to exercise self-control during the Vietnam match, for fear of receiving yellow cards, emphasizing that all players must abide by the rules of the game, adding that only one Iraqi player received a yellow card.
    Commenting on Iraq's victory over Japan, the Iraq national football coach said that his team are well aware that this win places a huge responsibility on them to keep up the outstanding performance in the tournament, adding that they must set aside their victory over Japan in order to remain focused on winning in the upcoming games and bring joy to Iraqi fans whose support has been endless.
    For his part, Iraq team player Bashar Rassan assured his team’s readiness to win against Vietnam and make Iraq's fans happy, praising their continued support throughout the tournament. (QNA)
