Qatar Chairs Extraordinary Meeting of GCC Undersecretaries of Ministries of Industry

Doha, January 23 (QNA) - The State of Qatar chaired the extraordinary meeting of undersecretaries of Ministries of Industry of the GCC countries, which was held in Doha on Tuesday.
During the meeting, Their Excellencies the undersecretaries discussed the latest developments related to finding a unified definition of the Gulf national product and its standards, the options and proposals presented by the GCC countries regarding determining the percentage of nationalization, choosing appropriate incentives to achieve a balance in the competitiveness of the Gulf national product and supporting the private sector, and what was reached by member states in that regard.
In his opening remarks for the meeting, HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry Mohammed bin Hassan Al Malki praised the role of the GCC countries and their efforts to develop and unify their economic systems and policies during the past years to diversify their economies and raise the contribution of non-oil sectors, especially in the industrial field, to reach comprehensive economic and industrial integration between all Gulf countries.
On the other hand, HE the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry participated in the meeting of the first regular session of 2024 of the Executive Office of the Gulf Organization for Industrial Consulting (GOIC). During the meeting, they followed up on the implementation of the decisions of the meeting of the second regular session of the office for 2023 and reviewed the results of the following up of the decisions of the Industrial Cooperation Committee in its 49th and 50th meetings related to the work of the organization.
