AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Indonesia's Coach: Team Aims to Perform Well against Japan

 

Doha, January 23 (QNA) - Coach of the Indonesian team Shin Tae-yong stated that they aim to showcase the team's technical capabilities and development in Wednesday's match against Japan at Al Thumama Stadium in Group D's third round of matches of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
   In Tuesday's press conference, the coach acknowledged the difficulty of the upcoming match and that his team will give its best against Japan which is aiming to compensate its loss against Iraq.
   He noted the development of performance in the Indonesian team. He said that the players need to be quick and focused since the Japanese team has excellent players distinguished with their offensive play which enables them to reach the opponents' goal quickly.
   The coach added that his team has prepared for the match while keeping in consideration all possible scenarios that might come up which may force changes.
   Shin Tae-yong touched on the development of football in Southwest Asia where teams have developed highly competitive capabilities and said there should be great progress in the coming years in countries such as Vietnam, Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand.
   Egy Maulana, the Indonesian national team player, expressed his goal to perform at the best level against Japan and qualify for the next stage. He said that the players will do their best and are aiming to showcase their capabilities and development.
   Maulana said that the match would be an opportunity for the Indonesian team to show their strength and make history for the country. They have learned a lot during their participation in different tournaments and they aim to try and avoid exiting the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 in the group stage. (QNA)
