AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Saudi Team Qualifies for Round of 16 after Defeating Kyrgyzstan 2-0

Doha, January 21 (QNA) - The Saudi Arabia national football team has reserved a place in the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 after beating Kyrgyzstan 2-0 in the second round of matches of Group F.
Mohammed Kanno gave the Saudi team the lead in the 35th minute, while substitute Faisal Al Ghamdi scored the second goal in the 84th minute.
The Saudi team now tops the group standings with six points, followed by Thailand with four points after drawing without goals earlier Sunday with the Omani team, with the latter getting one point, while the Kyrgyzstan team remains with no points.
The Kyrgyzstan national team played with nine players after its defender Ayzar Akmatov and midfielder Kimi Merk were sent off in the 9th and 52nd minutes, respectively.
The match had a good technical level, with a clear advantage in terms of possession and control of the midfield for the Saudi team.
Despite having less players, the Kyrgyzstan team tried to consolidate its positions in the back and impose control on the attacking duo of the Saudi team Salem Al Dosari and Firas Al Buraikan, but its task in building attacks and threatening goalkeeper Ahmed Al Kassar was very difficult.
The third and final round of Group F matches will be held on Jan. 25, when Saudi Arabia will face Thailand at the Education City Stadium, while Kyrgyzstan will meet Oman at the Abdullah bin Khalifa Stadium. (QNA)
