AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Oman Coach Happy with Team's Strong Performance against Thailand

Doha, January 21 (QNA) - Oman coach Branko Ivankovic said that he was happy with the strong performance presented by players in today's match against Thailand that ended in a goalless draw at Abdullah Bin Khalifa Stadium within the second round of Group F of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, which will continue until Feb. 10, with the participation of 24 teams.
At the post-match press conference, Ivankovic congratulated the players for the sportsmanship they showed throughout the match, terming today's match as difficult and strong and required a great effort. Our players presented all that they have and I am proud of them, he said.
Even if the team wins over Thailand today, its qualification for the next round will not be decided because winning the next match is required as well, the Omani national team coach pointed out.
Ivankovic explained that he fielded 5 strikers in today's match and they gave their best, but the Thai team defense was solid and difficult to penetrate. There is pressure on the Omani team to please the fans and secure qualification, he indicated, while praising the large public attendance to support the team. (QNA)
