Jordanian Minister of Government Communication to QNA: Qatar Made Great Efforts to Stop War in Gaza

Amman, January 21 (QNA) - The State of Qatar and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan have developed historical and sustainable relations, hinging upon consolidated decades-long bedrocks, said HE Minister of Government Communications of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin said. Speaking with Qatar News Agency (QNA), Mubaidin, who is also the official spokesperson for Jordanian government, added the two countries established a unified position on Arab issues and crises in the region, in a way that serves the Arab interests. Both countries' leaders coordinated stances on the issues pertaining to the Arab and Islamic nations with mutually respecting each country's agenda and interests on certain issues, he added, highlighting that the harmonious policies included political, cultural, economic and social fields and led to continuously solid and fruitful bilateral relations. He added that the Qatari investments in Jordan are continuing to grow and that the Jordanian expat community is highly respected in Doha. Commenting on the aggression on the Gaza Strip, he said the two countries had involved, since the first day of the aggression, in a high-level coordination, highlighting the consensus reached during the Riyadh Summit in November by Doha, Amman and other Arab countries on a clear position that rejects war and the killing of civilians. The Qatari Foreign Ministry and diplomacy made great efforts in parallel with the Jordanian Foreign Ministry, and held consultations with many countries concerned with the Palestinian issue that led to a UN General Assembly resolution to stop the war. In this context, Mubaidin hailed Qatar's efforts within the Security Council, relief assistance and diplomatic endeavors to reach a humanitarian truce and release prisoners, expressing his country's unrelented support for Qatari efforts. The State of Qatar also backs the clear-cut positions of Jordan and Egypt that reject displacement and the liquidation of the Palestinian cause, and the aid deliveries to Palestinians in Gaza through Egypt and Jordan - an indication that Doha strongly supports a unified Arab position that backs the Palestinian cause and condemns the barbaric Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and restrictions on Palestinians in the West Bank. This Qatari support was highly manifested in backing the Jordanian Hashemite custodianship over the Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al Quds Al Sharif, reflecting an affirmation of the two leaderships' ability to adopt clear and harmonious policies on the dangers threatening the Palestinian cause and peace in the region, he said. Mubaidin also highlighted King Abdullah II's calls, during the Riyadh Summit, for mobilizing an international and global position for a sustainable humanitarian aid delivery and stopping the war, with the international community unable to convince Israel to stop the war. The aid by the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) still reaches the Rafah crossing to be delivered into the Gaza Strip through the King Hussein Bridge and other aid supplies are airdropped on Jordanian field hospital in southern Gaza's Khan Younis, he added. He added that Jordan's support for the Palestinian brothers has not been limited to supporting Gaza, but has been present in the West Bank through establishing the field hospital in Nablus, as well as medical aid and interventions for the Palestinian brothers and the people of the West Bank to supply them with medicines, food items, wheat and grains, in addition to receiving children from Gaza at King Hussein Cancer Center, the action that really expresses the Jordanian humanitarian position. HE Dr. Muhannad Mubaidin affirmed that the western position is unjust regarding the Palestinian cause and does not recognize the fact that Israel's policies that violated all international charters are primarily the major causes that stepped up overwhelming pressures on Palestinians and triggered the Operation Al Aqsa Flood. He pointed out that the western position has backed Israel from day one when the war erupted, claiming that Israel has been defending itself, but this position, he said, ignored the fact that it has backed the establishment of the occupation force and planted it in the region to shatter the hopes of Palestinians, occupy their territories, undermine their security, devastate their homeland and displace them to many countries and territories even inside the historical Palestinian territories. Mubaidin noted that even in these territories the west has been keen to split them between Arabs of 1948, people of the West Bank and Gaza Strip, indicating that the western position is the key supporter and curator of the Zionist and political scheme in the region. Commenting on the economic affair, Mubaidin emphasized that Jordan embraces a fertile environment to attract investment and make growth, adding that the Jordanian lands are characterized by an average of social growth with respect to diverse consumption patterns and this environment needs Arab support to build development investments with all investment advantages, primarily the security, political and legislative stability. The Jordanian economy, though engulfed by multiple crises, proved that it is ably capable of overcoming these crises as vindicated by major funding institutions, along with sovereign debt rating institutions, Dr. Mubaidin emphasized. He pointed out that Jordan continues its programmes today to overhaul the national economy with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which signifies that the Jordanian economy is effective and has been proving this effectiveness through overcoming the crises, making the nation a perfect destination for investments to pivot towards it.
