AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Malaysia's Coach Eyes Victory against Bahrain Tomorrow

Doha, January 19 (QNA) - Vice President of the Omani Football Association (OFA), Mohsen Al Masrouri, asserted that the State of Qatar has become a global icon in organizing major tournaments as it provided an ideal atmosphere for the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup and ensured that all the organizational aspects are up to the highest standards. This explains why Qatar won the hosting of the tournament following the withdrawal of China as it is the best alternative.
Al Masrouri told Qatar News Agency (QNA) that holding the current Asian Cup a year after the end of the World Cup is an extremely positive sign, particularly since the competitions are being held on the previous World Cup stadiums, not to mention the dazzling opening ceremony that reflected messages of peace, love, and solidarity with the Palestinians.
He expressed his hope that the tournament continues its success and brilliance in the coming days, noting that the matches of the first round were cautious generally except few high level ones. But, he expects the level to rise as competitions edge closer to the next round.
Speaking about the chances of the Omani team in the tournament, he remarked that they showed a good performance as they have excellent players combining youth and experience, hoping they go far in the Asian Cup.
The Saudi team has better chances of topping Group E along with Oman, though it is difficult to tell because Asian football teams have recently developed and there might be some surprises, Al Masrouri continued.
He concluded his statement by praising the support of the Omani fans for the national team inside and outside the Sultanate, pointing out that they have great aspirations and are the real supporters of the national team, hoping the team put a smile in their faces. (QNA)
