MATKA Travel Fair: Tourism Malaysia Highlights Ecotourism, Sustainability to Nordic Travellers
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 19 (Bernama) -- Tourism Malaysia is once again participating in this year's MATKA Travel Fair to highlight Malaysia's efforts in ecotourism and sustainable tourism.
Tourism Malaysia said the fair held at Messukeskus, Helsinki from Jan 18 to 21, is anticipated to provide additional opportunities for showcasing Malaysian tourism attractions that align with the preferences of Nordic travellers.
“This year's special showcase allows the world to witness Malaysia's breathtaking natural wonders, multi-ethnic cultural heritage, sustainable community-based tourism, and culinary delights that promise an extraordinary experiential journey.
“Among the new products and packages featured include the Langkawi Geopark Green Package, Malaysia Archaeotourism and Geotourism packages, Perlis Ecotourism packages, Endau Rompin National Park, Kinabalu UNESCO Global Geopark, and Sarawak Delta National Geopark,” it said in a statement.
Additionally, a special cultural troupe brought by the Sarawak Tourism Board will be performing twice daily, showcasing traditional Sarawakian dances and local musical instruments such as sape (a string instrument) and nose flute.
A cooking demo and food sampling will also take place to introduce Malaysian delicacies to the visitors.
Led by Tourism Malaysia's International Promotion Division (America, Europe & Oceania) Deputy Director, Azimah Aziz, the delegation also includes Sarawak Tourism Board, Sabah Tourism Board, and Langkawi Development Authority.
