AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Australia's Coach Expresses Happiness to Advance to Round of 16

Doha, January 18 (QNA) - Coach of the Australian national football team, Graham Arnold, was delighted with the 1-0 win over Syria at the Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium in the second round of Group B to qualify for the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
       In the post-match press conference, Arnold said that the match was strong and physical from both sides, adding that he was extremely pleased with the good defensive performance of the Australian team, as they kept a clean sheet in two consecutive matches, noting that qualifying for the round of 16 is the beginning of the title hunt in the upcoming rounds.
       The Australian coach expected the next encounter with Uzbekistan at the end of the group stage matches to be strong, stressing that he would work for the win to lead the group.
       In the same context, Australian player Jackson Irvine explained during the post-match press conference that it was a defensive tough game for both sides, and the Australian team succeeded in not conceding a goal. 
       Jackson, who won the Best Player of the Match award, did not hide his happiness at scoring two goals in the Australian team's two matches of the tournament. He also promised that his country's team would continue its outstanding results and achieve victory in the coming matches until winning the tournament's title. (QNA)
