Doha Hosts 1st edition of e-Asia Cup in February

 

Doha, January 18 (QNA) - Doha will host the first edition of the AFC Asian e-Cup 2023, from Feb.1 to 5, with the participation of the best talents in this type of competition.
       Twenty member associations of the Asian Football Confederation will participate in the anticipated event, which will be held in conjunction with the 18th Asian Cup currently being held in Doha.
       The 20 participating teams were distributed into four groups of three teams and two groups of four, and each team included two main players and one substitute player.
       The group stage will begin on Feb. 1, as Qatar faces Lebanon in Group A, and Uzbekistan meets Syria in Group B, after which Qatar will play with Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan with India, respectively, and the UAE will also face Hong Kong.
       Vietnam plays Japan in Group D, Malaysia faces Jordan in Group E, then Vietnam returns to face Indonesia, while Korea plays with Bahrain, and Kyrgyzstan faces Saudi Arabia at the opening of Group F competitions.
       At the end of the opening day, Jordan plays with Korea in Group E, while Saudi Arabia plays with Oman, and Thailand faces Kyrgyzstan in Group F.
       On Feb. 2, Tajikistan meets Lebanon in Group A, Syria plays with India in Group B, Hong Kong plays with Iran in Group C, and Japan plays with Indonesia in Group D.
       Group D matches will conclude with Iran facing the UAE, Bahrain playing against Malaysia before facing Jordan in Group E, and Oman meeting Thailand in Group F.
       The group stage concludes when Korea plays Malaysia, Saudi Arabia plays with Thailand, and Kyrgyzstan faces Oman in the last matches of this round.
       The teams finishing first and second in each group, as well as the four best third-placed teams, qualify for the knockout rounds, which are contested over three legs, with the winner of each match qualifying for the quarter-finals. (QNA)
