CICG Asia Pacific, BERNAMA, Seek Opportunity To Promote Media & Communication Exchanges

UALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 (Bernama) – The China International Communication Group (CICG)’s Centre for Asia Pacific (CICG Asia-Pacific) has expressed a keen interest in establishing collaboration with the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA).
The collaboration is seen as necessary in promoting strategic communication exchanges and understanding between China and Malaysia, especially in light of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between China and Malaysia this year.
This proposal was conveyed by CICG Asia-Pacific President Chen Wenge during a courtesy call on BERNAMA's Editor-in-Chief Nur-ul Afida Kamaludin, at Wisma BERNAMA on Thursday.
He also expressed optimism about potential collaborations in various areas, including media, publications, and communication exchanges.
One potential project discussed during the meeting is the publication of a coffee table book to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of Malaysia-China bilateral relationship.
Additionally, CICG Asia Pacific, in partnership with the China ASEAN Centre, is planning to organize a "Malaysia-China New Industry" forum in Kuala Lumpur in May. This forum will focus on topics such as new energy, green industry, and bio-chemical, and BERNAMA will be invited to participate.
Chen Wenge stated his eagerness to collaborate on these initiatives and expressed hope that the meeting would pave the way for more collaborations to enhance interactions and friendship between the people of both countries.
Meanwhile, Nur-ul Afida, while welcoming the CICG Asia Pacific delegation, discussed potential cooperation opportunities, particularly considering the current roles of Malaysia and China. She also highlighted the interest shown by CICG Asia Pacific in collaborating on the publication of a book related to the anniversary celebrations.
During the meeting, discussions also revolved around the types of publications produced by CICG Asia Pacific, including a special edition about the diplomatic relations between Malaysia and China. BERNAMA offered to provide content, articles, and pictures for this publication.
CICG Asia-Pacific is a subsidiary of CICG, the largest and oldest comprehensive international communication agency in China founded in 1949. It publishes multilingual magazines and journals in 40 languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, and Korean, among others. Additionally, it produces multilingual audiovisual products for international communications.
