AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Akram Afif: Proud of Last-16 Advance

Doha, January 17 (QNA) - Qatari team player Akram Afif expressed his pride in advancing to the round of 16 of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 after a 1-0 victory over Tajikistan today in the second round of Group A competitions.
       At the post-match press conference, Afif, who was chosen as the best player in the match for the second time in a row, said that reaching the round of 16 after two matches against Lebanon and Tajikistan is the result of teamwork by all the players who follow the instructions of the technical staff well and show great commitment.
       Afif congratulated the Qatari fans on the last-16 advance, while appreciating the great support he received from his family. He pointed out that today's victory against a strong competitor was not easy, considering that the team played in the ideal way, imposed their dominance, created opportunities and achieved the desired goal that is to win and secure the qualification to the next round.
    Afif stressed that the goal is to continue providing good levels in the tournament and to continue achieving victories by handling the matches one by one without anticipating events in order to complete the campaign towards the great goal of winning the title. (QNA)
