AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Lebanon Coach Confident his Team will Advance despite Draw

Doha, January 17 (QNA) - Miodrag Radulovic, coach of the Lebanese national football team, considered the 0-0 draw against the Chinese team a satisfactory result, in the match on Wednesday at Al Thumama Stadium in Group A of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
      In post-match statements, Radulovic affirmed his confidence in the team's ability to qualify for the next round, pointing out that his players were the best in the match, but they were unable to score goals, and therefore they must work in the next match against Tajikistan to win in order to qualify for the second round.
       He pointed out that correcting the mistakes of the team's last performance against Qatar was the reason for the good appearance in today's match, adding that coming out with a point is better than losing, and that this result gave the team the opportunity to maintain its chances of qualifying for the next round.
       He said that both teams performed well in the match. However, the Lebanese team must prepare well for the last match in this stage, which will be decisive, as it will not be easy against the Tajikistan team, which played at an excellent level in its first match against China.
       In post-match statements, a number of Lebanese national team players confirmed that the draw with the Chinese national team enhanced their chances of qualifying for the next round in the tournament. Mostafa Matar noted that the national team played well and was better than its competitor after the distinguished performance by all the players, considering that the draw enhanced the chance of qualifying for the next round despite the difficulty of the next match against the Tajik national team.
   For his part, player Mohamad Haidar explained that the technical level of the match was good, and that the Lebanese team had the most possession of the ball, but it did not succeed in scoring goals.
   He stressed the need to score goals in the next match in order to achieve victory and qualify for the round of 16, thanking the Lebanese fans who strongly supported the team in the match and before that in the opening match against the Qatari team, hoping for their attendance in the next match to help the team pass to the next round.
   Footballer Hassan Shaito pointed out that the team played well and succeeded in delivering a satisfactory level, but it was lacking in scoring goals, noting the difficulty of the last match in the group against the Tajik team in securing passage to the second stage of the competitions.
   Bassel Jradi also confirmed the team's great game against the Chinese team, saying that he was happy with their performance throughout the game, despite lacking offensive effectiveness.
   The player acknowledged the difficulty of the last match in the group stage against the Tajik national team, expressing his hopes to play better, and for the Lebanese team to be more effective and accurate in front of the opponent's goal. (QNA)
