Qatar Participates in Cairo International Book Fair by Displaying Intellectual Production
Doha, January 17 (QNA) - The Ministry of Culture has announced its participation in the 55th edition of the Cairo International Book Fair, set to start next Wednesday under the theme "Creating Knowledge... Preserving the Word." The fair will run until February 6.
The Ministry of Culture's participation will showcase Qatari intellectual productions, promote the ministry's electronic library, and strengthen cultural and intellectual communication.
Several Qatari publishing houses are expected to participate in the exhibition, including Dar Al Watad, Hamad Bin Khalifa University Press, and the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies.
Director of the Libraries Department and Doha International Book Fair Jassim Ahmed Al Buainain stated that Qatar's participation in the Cairo International Book Fair aims to build new relationships with professionals in the fields of culture and publishing. It also involves showcasing Qatari intellectual productions from local publishing houses and promoting the Doha International Book Fair, he added.
The ministry's participation includes the presentation of various and new publications across different knowledge disciplines, including novels, law, social sciences, humanities, as well as distinctive releases of children's and youth books.
The exhibition features 550 events and 5,250 exhibitors, and its cultural program includes activities and conferences with Arab cultural figures, intellectuals, and thinkers. The program addresses issues that align with the new digital world, along with intellectual, social, and national topics. (QNA)
