AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ India's Coach: Team Aims to Win over Uzbekistan on Thursday

Doha, January 17 (QNA) - Coach of the Indian national team, Igor Stimac said that his players are aiming for victory in the match against Uzbekistan on Thursday held at Ahmed Bin Ali Stadium in the second round of matches of Group B of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. In the pre-match press conference, Stimac said that his team wants to redeem itself and win despite the difficulty of the opponent. He added that the team must improve their offense and be focused during the match. Stimac pointed out the need to learn from the previous match against Australia, where the Indian team played well at the start of the game but lost focus in the second half which resulted in their loss. He said that the players missed some of the opportunities that they had and must not repeat the same mistakes. India's coach explained that the team trained well in preparation and will have a greater offense approach, take advantage of playing on the flanks, have a good mental state, and strengthen their defense. Amrinder Singh, the Indian national team player, commented saying that the team is looking forward to achieving a win against Uzbekistan and avoiding repeating the mistakes that occurred against Australia. The Indian team is still holding on to their chances of qualifying and their goal is to deliver a good performance in the upcoming match, he added. Singh attributed the presence of the fans and their support as a strong motivation for the team to win and he hopes that a large number of them will be present during the match. (QNA)
