At Least 20 Killed In Explosion At Fireworks Factory In Central Thailand

BANGKOK, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- At least 20 people were killed in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Suphan Buri, about 120 km north of Bangkok, Wednesday.

National police chief Pol Gen Torsak Sukvimol said the incident occurred at 3.30 pm (local time).

“Initial investigation found that 20 people were killed and many other injured,” he said in a statement.

Photos and videos circulated online revealing the devastating aftermath of the explosion at the factory located near a rice field with debris and body parts scattered.

The cause of the blast is not immediately clear and investigation is underway.
