AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023/ Qatar Goalkeeper Affirms Readiness to Continue Victories in Match against Tajikistan

Doha, January 16 (QNA) - Mishaal Barshim, the goalkeeper of the Qatar football team, affirmed Al Adaam's readiness to continue victories in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, when they face Tajikistan on Wednesday at the Al Bayt Stadium in the second round of the Group A competitions.
    At a pre-match press conference, Barshim said the team prepared well to win and ensure qualification for the second round of the tournament, noting that the technical staff led by coach Marquez Lopez prepared the team in the best way for the confrontation.
    The task will not be easy against the Tajik team, which performed very well in their match with Chinese team that ended in a goalless draw and maintained their chances of competing for qualification, Barshim added, noting that the competitor has distinctive players especially in the defensive lines and relies on speed in attacking to launch quick counters, a matter which requires players to be extremely focused during the match.
    The good start in the tournament gave the Qatari team great moral motivation, especially since the victory over Lebanon was accompanied by a good performance whether on the offensive aspect by creating many opportunities and scoring three goals or on the defensive side by keeping a clean sheet, Barshim added.
    The Qatari goalkeeper stressed that what was achieved in the first match is only the first step of a long and difficult campaign, which means the necessity of continuing to present good level and achieve victories in order to attain more in the tournament that is being held in Qatar and supported by team's fans.
