AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Hong Kong's Coach: We'll Do Our Best despite Losing to UAE

Doha, January 14 (QNA) - Norwegian Jorn Andersen, coach of the Hong Kong national football team said that his team played a good match despite losing to their Emirati opponent by 3-1, in the match that took place at Khalifa International Stadium, within Group C matches of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023.
In a post-match press conference, Andersen expressed his pride at his team's performance and their ability to create various opportunities during their last match, although luck was not on their side.
He added that at the start of the game, the team were not at best shape, yet soon after, they succeeded in advancing to the midfield, played energetically, and attempted to press an attack, with no luck.
The Hong Kong coach said that his team will reflect on their performance and start preparing for their match against Iran, where they will strive to do their best.
Andersen added that the Hong Kong team is taking matters step by step at a time, thus, they are currently not thinking about qualifying to the next stage.
In Group C's upcoming matches, Palestine will take on the UAE on Thursday, whereas on Friday, Hong Kong will meet Iran. (QNA)
