AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Japanese Coach: Win over Vietnam is Deserved, Team is Capable of Going Far

Doha, January 14 (QNA) - Coach of the Japanese national team Hajime Moriyasu expressed his happiness with the team's victory over its Vietnamese counterpart (4-2) on Sunday in the first match of Group D.
Moriyasu said in a press conference after the match that his country's team deserved the win and gave a great performance regardless of the strength of the opponent.
The coach acknowledged that his team faced difficulties and took time to take the lead in the match but eventually managed to take control of the game.
The team's collective approach and lack of fear of losing was what led it to win especially after the team had suffered in the defense aspect and a large number of players made mistakes, the Japanese coach explained.
The technical level of the team requires improvement in order to advance further in the tournament as it will face strong teams such as Iraq in the next match, Moriyasu said.
He added that he will work to ensure that the team performs better in the next stage by learning from the mistakes and addressing them in a way that guarantees the team's victory.
Moriyasu expressed his full confidence in the team's ability to go far in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. (QNA)
