AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Japan Beat Vietnam 4-2

Doha, January 14 (QNA) - Japan defeated Vietnam 4-2 in a Group D match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 at Al Thumama Stadium on Sunday.
Japan's goals were scored by Takumi Minamino (two goals), Keito Nakamura and Ayase Ueda in the 11th, 45th, 45+4, and 85th minutes, while Vietnam's goals were scored by Nguyen Dinh Bac and Pham Tuan Hai in the 16th and 33rd minutes.
The Japanese team grabbed the first three points in the tournament and temporarily topped the Group D standings pending the result of the match between the Iraq and Indonesia that will be held tomorrow. The Vietnamese team remained without points.
The teams played a good match especially in the first half, in which five of the match's six goals were scored.
Japan is looking forward to winning the fifth Asian title in their history after winning four continental titles in 1992, 1996, 2004 and 2011. (QNA)
