AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: South Korea Coach Says Facing Bahrain Monday Vital, Eyes Tile

Doha, January 14 (QNA) - The head coach of South Korea football team Jurgen Klinsmann said he is very delighted to be here in the State of Qatar once again to compete in the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023. He added that he had attended the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 contests which he said were dazzling with their all details, congratulating Qatar for breaking the record of the massive crowds that watched the tournament.
At a press conference ahead of Bahrain match scheduled to be played at Jassim Bin Hamad Stadium Monday within Group E, Klinsmann added that his team are thrilled to be in the State of Qatar, confirming that the first confrontation is of utmost importance and will be challenging.
Klinsmann said that he respects Bahrain team that is why he implored his squad to concentrate to achieve a positive result, affirming that the Korean team have the stellar quality to win this championship.
Commenting on the opener match, Klinsmann spoke to Qatar News Agency (QNA), saying that he hails the performance of the Qatari team in the opener, which was a very important victory among the Qatari fans, adding that his team might encounter Qatar in the upcoming rounds of the tournament.
In conclusion, Klinsmann said the level of the Asian teams has been largely increasing recently with Saudi Arabia beating the title holder Argentine and Japan defeating Germany in the world cup, all these, he affirmed, are indications of the dramatic evolution of the Asian teams.
For his part, South Korean footballer Hwang Hee-chan said the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 is one of the most significant continental championships, adding that representing his country's team is a great honor for him. He confirmed that his team prepared well for this tournament and needed to achieve victories and ultimately win the title, adding that he is determined to achieve that objective. (QNA)
