AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Syria's Coach Praises Team's Performance in Uzbekistan Match

Doha, January 13 (QNA) - Argentine Hector Cuper, the Syrian national football team coach expressed his satisfaction at his team's draw with team Uzbekistan, in the Group B match of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 that took place at the Jassim bin Hamad Stadium today.

      Syria and Uzbekistan both possess one point, whereas Australia leads Group B with 3 points, following their win against their Indian counterpart, with a score of 2-0, earlier today.

      The coach added that the team faced a strong opponent that possessed technical stability, thanking his team players for their performance.

       He added that Uzbekistan has many distinguished midfielders among their ranks, and that team Syria added some new tactics in addition to their usual style of playing, something that did not lead to a smooth running. 

      Cuper concluded that the tournament is only in its beginning, with Group B teams having equal chances of winning, expressing his hope for a win in the match against Australia, indicating that Syria will analyze their opponent’s performance, and will work to rectify some of their earlier mistakes.
