AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Katara Celebrates Cultures of Participating Nations

Doha, January 12 (QNA) - The cultural, artistic and recreational activities accompanying the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 began Friday evening at the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara).
Katara was decorated with the flags of the countries participating in the tournament, and football and artistic models.
Katara will be hosting several activities. In Al-Hikma Square, the Qatari Ardha was performed. The band will be presenting its traditional performances on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays of every week throughout the tournament.
Visitors also interacted with the street arts festival, where the characters, music and costumes varied, and the military choir presented a dazzling military artistic show to the attendees, while giant display screens were distributed and allocated to the fan zone in Al-Hikma Square for football fans to watch all the matches. Katara visitors got to watch the opening ceremony and the opening match of the tournament.
The audience at Katara attended a musical performance presented by the Indonesian band on stage, and also watched a show of traditional Chinese attire.
Meanwhile, the "Katara" and 'Cut Art' and hand crafts market, which sells antiques, souvenirs and handicrafts, is seeing great turnover. Katara Publishing House is also participating with a display of the House's books, while organizing artistic and educational workshops, and competitions for children.
A series of artistic and cultural competitions will be held on this occasion, including the Best Picture Competition and the Fine Art Competition under the title of Customs and Traditions of the Peoples of Asia, where Katara has allocated valuable prizes to the winners.
On the other hand, art galleries are open to visitors, featuring 'Turab' exhibition by the Qatari artist Lulwah Al Mansouri, and the 'Asian Stars' exhibition by the photographer Haitham bin Salim Al Shukairi. (QNA)
