Asian Cup 2023/ Akram Afif: We Strive to Claim Second Continental Title, I Aspire to Return to Playing in Europe

Doha, January 12 (QNA) - The Qatar national team playmaker Akram Afif, winner of player of the match award in the Qatar-Lebanon match, confirmed that Qatar's team aims to win the 2023 Qatar Asian Cup in order to retain the title, indicating at the same time that his dream is to return and play professionally in Europe again.
Afif who excelled in the Qatar-Lebanon match where he scored two goals and succeeded in passing the key pass for the third goal, explained in a press conference that the match was not easy at all, despite the big score, especially since the Lebanese national team were good and gave a remarkable performance.
Pointing out that the players adhered to the coach's instructions and implemented the plan well, which contributed to achieving the victory, Afif added that the fans were the team's 12th player, and they are what made the difference for the players and made them do their best.
Regarding the results of the Qatari team in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2023, Akram Afif considered that the results were disappointing, but he stressed the team's pride in being present and playing in the World Cup.
