Registration in National Initiative to Encourage Local Production, Subsidize Meat Prices for Ramadan Begins

Doha, January 08 (QNA) - In cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry commenced registration in the national initiative to encourage local production and subsidize meat prices for the holy month of Ramadan this year. Registration is open until January 30.
    A ministry statement today stated that this step is within the framework of encouraging livestock breeders and owners of estates and farms as well as supporting the local production of sheep in a way that enhances the country's self-sufficiency and backs balance between supply and demand to stabilize prices in the markets and ensure the right of citizens to buy red meat during the holy month at reasonable prices.
    The ministry added that interested breeders and farm owners, who have local livestock that meet the terms and conditions, must apply for registration through government service centers across the country. These centers include: Al Hilal, Al Rayyan, Al Wakrah, Al Daayen, Al Khor and Al Shamal. Registration is also available at customer service in Al Mansour Tower - opposite Qatar Red Crescent. (QNA)
