AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Hassan Al Haydos: Our Goal is to Please Fans, Achieve Positive Results

Doha, January 07 (QNA) - Hassan Al Haydos, captain of Qatar football team, expressed his hopes of leading the team to victory in the 18th edition of the AFC Asian Cup, which Doha will host from Jan. 12 to Feb. 10.
The Qatari team will play in the opening match of the tournament against the Lebanese team at Lusail Stadium on Jan. 12 as part of the group stage which also includes China and Tajikistan.
The 34-year-old player stated on Sunday that the biggest achievement that he has achieved in his career is winning the Asian Cup title in its previous edition in 2019, describing the win as unforgettable.
Al Haydos, who is set to partake in the Asian Cup for the fourth time in a row, said that the team is focused on presenting a great performance and achieving positive results in the tournament that is held in the team's homeland and among its fans.
As the Qatari team's journey in the 2023 Asian Cup is set to begin with the match against Lebanon on Friday, Al Haydos explained that their goal is to obtain the highest number of points during the group stage in order to move to the round of 16.
He also expressed his hopes of facing Japan again after Qatar defeated the team in the final of the last edition by 3-1.
The captain of the Qatari football team said that the main goal is to please the fans and he hopes to witness their support during the matches. (QNA)
