AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023: Japan Coach Eyes Title

Doha, January 05 (QNA) - Japan head coach Hajime Moriyasu voiced hope to win the title of the AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023, slated for Jan. 12 to Feb.10.
After arriving in Doha today, Moriyasu said in remarks that the odds are in favor of the Japanese team for the continental title. He expected the competition to be strong among the teams that aspire to reach the podium.
The chances of the teams that participated in the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 finals will be greater in competing for the title of Asian championship, especially in light of the presence of a number of good players who are looking forward to giving their best in the continental competition.
Moriyasu had been on the technical staff of the Japanese national team since 2015, and worked as an assistant to coach Akira Nishino during the 2018 World Cup in Russia, before becoming the head coach in the last Asian Cup finals in the UAE.
The Japanese national team aspires to clinch their fifth title, and set a record, considering they are currently one title ahead of Saudi Arabia and Iran. (QNA)
