Doha to Hold WSTA 15th Gulf Water Conference End of April
Manama, December 27 (QNA) - The Water Sciences and Technology Association (WSTA) announced that the WSTA 15th Gulf Water Conference to be held in Doha from 28-30 April 2024, will discuss the role of technology in the water sector through 74 research studies in this field.
In a statement issued today, WSTA said that the conference's preparations are underway, indicating that it will be held in cooperation with the Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (Kahramaa) and the Secretariat General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) under the slogan "Water in the GCC: Embracing Technological Progress."
WSTA President Eng. Abdul Rahman Al Mahmoud said that the Society has accepted 74 research abstracts for this purpose, indicating that the last date for receiving complete research texts will be December 31st.
The conference's sessions will mainly deal with foreseeing the role of technology in achieving an effective and sustainable water sector in the GCC Countries (benefits, costs, regulations, risks, and challenges).
The WSTA 15th Gulf Water Conference will focus on modern emerging innovations and the use of technology in the following water sub-sectors in the GCC Countries: Desalination Management, Groundwater and Surface Water Management, Municipal Wastewater Management, Municipal Water Supply Management, Agricultural Water Management, and Industrial Water Management.
It will include special discussion panel sessions on the Role of R&D in localizing and producing water sector technologies in the GCC countries, Recent Development and future of Hydroinformatics and Monitoring Systems as decision support systems, and the Potential contribution of the water sector technologies to the NDCs, Net-Zero Carbon targets and climate change adaptation in the GCC countries.
