Lecture on Protecting the Environment in Darb Al-Saai

 

Doha, December 10 (QNA) - A series of interactive lectures organized by the Ministry of Culture at the main theater in Darb Al Saai kicked off on Sunday evening with a lecture entitled "Right to Environment".
    The lecture was presented by Head of the Studies and Research Department of the National Human Rights Committee Abdulrahman Suleiman Al Hammadi who highlighted an aspect of Qatar National Vision 2030 in protecting the environment, and the State’s efforts to establish environmentally friendly World Cup stadiums, as well as its construction of parks, wildlife reserves and environmentally friendly smart cities, such as Lusail and Musheireb.
    He shed light on the authorities responsible for protecting the environment in the country and their role in this aspect; pointing to the most important Qatari legislation on protecting the environment. He also referred to climate issues in the world and confronting desertification.
    Al Hammadi also touched on environmental projects in the country, including the experience of the Al-Kharsaa area which uses environmentally friendly solar panels and their role in generating energy.
    He stressed the important role of community members in protecting the environment, noting that their role in protecting the environment should not be limited to special days only such as the Arab Environment Day or the World Environment Day, rather becomes a necessity of life.
    The lecture saw a remarkable interaction by the audience, as it included activities and lessons learned from the life experiences. (QNA)
