QRCS Implements Multi-sector Development Projects in Somalia

Doha, December 04 (QNA) - Qatar Red Crescent Society (QRCS) has opened a health center for persons with disability (PWDs) in Somalia's Puntland province, with funding from the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs’ General Department of Endowments (AWQAF).
QRCS' Director of Relief and International Development Division, Dr. Mohamed Salah Ibrahim handed over 70 medical equipment to the Garowe General Hospital including equipment for the laboratory, outpatient, emergency, and obstetrics departments.
In Banadir, Mogadishu, a general surgery and urology medical convoy was launched, with the target of 600 medical examinations, 200 surgeries, 400 prescriptions, postoperative care for 200 patients, and a training and capacity-building program for local medical professionals.
Also as part of these humanitarian efforts, Dr. Ibrahim also held coordination meetings and signed a cooperation agreement with Somali Red Crescent Society (SRCS).
QRCS has launched humanitarian projects for the benefit of 828,850 poor people in Somalia, with a total budget of QR 1,976,772. (QNA)
