Ambassador of Cyprus to Qatar: Visit of President of Cyprus will Strengthen Bilateral Relations

Doha, November 27 (QNA) - HE Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the State of Qatar Nicholas Manolis affirmed that the relations between Qatar and Cyprus are continuously developing and flourishing, pointing to the official visit of HE President of the Republic of Cyprus Nikos Christodoulides to Doha and his talks with HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, which will further promote and strengthen the relations between the two countries and peoples, especially at the current juncture where the region is facing crucial challenges and upheavals.
    In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), HE the Ambassador of Cyprus said that the energy, investment and higher education are the most prominent areas of cooperation between the two countries.
    Indeed, the strong and solid character of the bilateral relations between Cyprus and Qatar, is expected to be verified after the conclusion of the visit of HE the President of Cyprus and his meeting with HH the Amir, based always on mutual respect and constructive cooperation in areas of common interests, HE the Ambassador said.
    His Excellency pointed out that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in the field of higher education and scientific research will be signed between the Government of the Republic of Cyprus and the Government of the State of Qatar.
    HE Ambassador of the Republic of Cyprus to the State of Qatar Nicholas Manolis affirmed that the signing of the MoU on higher education will further enhance educational exchanges at the level of students and academic staff, bolstering at the same time the economic, educational and cultural ties.
