Shura Secretariat General receives US Congress delegation

Manama, Nov. 20 (BNA): The Shura Council Secretariat General received a staff delegation from the US Senate and House of Representatives.

The visit came as a part of enhancing cooperation between both countries' legislative authorities and highlighting the council’s role in supporting the development process led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Dr. Fawzia Al Jeeb, Advisor to the Chairman of the Shura Council, conveyed the greeting of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, and Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Sura Council Secretary-General.

She affirmed the importance of enhancing relations and exchanging expertise.

Al Jeeb noted that the Secretariat General is keen to share its experience in supporting the legislative process.

The delegation was briefed on the history of legislative work in the kingdom and its quantum leap in issuing and enacting various legislation and laws. As well as the cooperation mechanism between the two councils and the government, in accordance with the constitution and regulating laws.
