FM: We Are Working On A Comprehensive Ceasefire In Gaza

Baghdad /NINA/- Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein confirmed: “The Iraqi government is working on a comprehensive ceasefire in Gaza, not a truce, and is also working on providing continuous aid to the residents of Gaza.”

Hussein said in a speech at the fourth meeting of the Middle East Peace and Security Forum, hosted by the American University in Dohuk: “There are different scenarios taking place in the current war, and our policy in the Iraqi government is to work to establish a Palestinian state, and Prime Minister Muhammad al-Sudani raised in various forums the issue of Reconstruction of Gaza.

He added: “There are different trends in the Iraqi political arena related to the policies of the various parties. There are trends that call for linking the presence of the coalition and advisors in the Iraqi arena to the war with Gaza, and there are other trends that see this as an Iraqi issue, leading to many problems in the Iraqi reality, including the Kurdistan region. Therefore, the Iraqi government is striving, whether with neighboring Iraq or Islamic and European countries, and communication is continuing with decision-makers, especially in Washington, to influence and pressure Israel to stop the war on Gaza.”/ End
