ANKARA (A.A) - 22.06.2009 - Foreign Ministers of Turkey and United Arab Emirates (UAE) met in the Turkish capital of Ankara on Monday.
During his meeting with UAE's Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdallah bin Zayid al-Nuhayyan, Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said that Turkey and UAE had friendly relations and the trade volume between the two countries reached 9 billion USD.
Expressing Turkey's sorrow over Saturday's bomb attack in Kirkuk town of Iraq, Davutoglu said, "an ambulance plane has departed from Turkey for Kirkuk this morning. We are planning to bring 23 injured people to Turkey".
Davutoglu also said that Turkish Red Crescent Society sent humanitarian aid including tents and foodstuffs to the region.
Commenting on the developments in Iran as well, Davutoglu said that Iran was an important neighboring country and a friend for Turkey.
He said Iran's stability was of great importance for Turkey and the region.
"We hope that the developments in Iran are concluded in the most proper way and through internal mechanisms. We also hope that the recent elections in the country, which were held in a dynamic atmosphere and with a high participation rate, are not overshadowed," Davutoglu said.
