Speaker of Azerbaijan’s Milli Majlis Sahiba Gafarova has attended the 56th plenary session of the Interparliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.
Addressing the event, Speaker Sahiba Gafarova commended the fruitful activity of the Interparliamentary Assembly in various fields over the past period, saying that it contributed to the development of bilateral and multilateral cooperation between the member states.
Sahiba Gafarova also exposed the lies of the Armenian side, drawing the attention to this country's continuous provocations against Azerbaijan, including mines and the illegal activities of the so-called institution in Karabakh.
The Azerbaijani Speaker highlighted the anti-terrorist measures carried out in response to the provocations of the Armenian armed forces, as well as the results of these measures. She emphasized that despite all of this, the official Yerevan still continues to deceive the international community using false and groundless accusations against Azerbaijan.
Sahiba Gafarova provided insight into the large-scale restoration and construction works currently being carried out by Azerbaijan in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur, as well as the State Program on Great Return. “Azerbaijan is interested in the normalization of relations with Armenia and the signing of a peace agreement,” Gafarova mentioned.
The Speaker also highlighted the events held in Baku marking "The Year of the Russian Language" in 2023, as well as the 3rd CIS Games to be held in Azerbaijan in 2025.
