Azerbaijan joins UNESCO International Coordinating Council of MAB Programme

Azerbaijan has been elected to the International Coordinating Council of the Man and the Biosphere (MAB) Programme during the UNESCO General Conference.

Five countries—Azerbaijan, Romania, Bulgaria, Russia and Ukraine— filed their membership bids. Azerbaijan’s bid was approved with 110 votes for the duration of four years (2023-2027).

Membership of the International Coordinating Council for Man and Biosphere Program will support Azerbaijan in fulfilling its global commitments in this field.
