Mottaki lashes out at West for meddling in Iran's internal affairs
Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Sunday asked western heads of state, particularly the UK, Germany and France, to avoid dealing wrongly with recent events in Iran.
In a meeting with ambassadors and heads of foreign legations in Iran, Mottaki condemned the uncalculated and hasty approaches of certain western officials and media.
He recalled the dark record of certain states and called on them to avoid wrong approach towards events in Iran.
Referring to record of France's support for terrorism and siding fully with the regime of former Iraqi ruler, Saddam, during the eight-year imposed war on Iran and said, "Though France is a big nation, it has unfortunately today been afflicted with a group of political dwarfs who have placed achievements of the country's revolution on sale."
He then named German leaders as hostages to Zionism's terrorist policies and said, "It is for 60 years that Germany is hostage of Zionism and the country's policies are compiled and implemented in line with (the wishes of) Tel Aviv."
He added that Germany's support for terrorists, including the attackers on Iran's embassy, does not leave any chance for the country to comment on Iran's transparent elections.
He then asked the UK to avoid interference in Iran's internal affairs and said, "Britain should forget the fallacy that sun does not rise and set in the British empire."
He said the countries, especially those in the Middle East, consider Britain as the factor behind the creation of the dirty Zionism as well as discord, clashes and insecurity in the region.
"London is creator of the illegitimate offspring of Zionism, i.e. bahaism, in the region which acts as a political party linked with Zionism," commented the minister.
Mottaki condemned London's interference in different parts of the world and said Britain's conspiting hands are visible in Herat, confrontation with heroes of Tangestan, in the Persian Gulf, and division of the Indian subcontinent, nationalization of oil industry in Iran, in Africa and every party of the world.
He added that London's divisive attempts over the past 150 years have targeted Iran's good relations with certain other states. Britain had a role in bringing the US to Iraq without UN authorization, he noted.
The Iranian diplomat said Britian was also among the main factors of insecurity in Basra and as part of British forces left Basra, security conditions in the city and the south of Iraq improved.
"As a country responsible for fighting drugs, the country (Britian) raised amount of drugs production to 9,000 tons a year from 1,000 tons/year."
He also referred to Britain's false claims on Iran's nuclear activities and said Britain has been the initiator of many false claims about Iran's nuclear industries and tried to influence the G5+1 members.
He said that the British government has also arranged 250 speeches by its professors in the US in a bid to change the US President Barack Obama's Iran policies.
As for Iran 10th Presidential Elections, said Mottaki, Britain followed the line of boycotting the elections but when it realized that its attempts were futile, it started sending special visitors to Iran to exert special influence on the elections, using their special information.
Elsewhere in his speech, Mottaki said that Iran seeks a world of justice, governed by logic wherein all use their potential and talent to materialize justice and equality.
He referred to the coincidence of Iran's presidential elections with European parliamentary elections and said Europeans participation in the voting was one third and at times half the Iranian voter turnout in the elections, indicating Iranians' confidence and loyalty to the system and legal trends.
He said the high voter turnout in Iran's elections showed rule of religious democracy in the country.
He added that thousands of Iranians were either martyred or injured by the chemical armaments put at the then Iraqi ruler, Saddam's disposal by 200 European companies during the Sacred Defense era. "In 30 years, we have learned how to cope with ups and downs and solve them using rich legal mechanisms," he concluded.
