Iran section is the "jewel" of Hermitage Museum: Director

Moscow, IRNA – The director of the Hermitage Museum, located in Saint Petersburg, Russia, has called the Iran section "the jewel" of the museum.
Iran’s Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Mehdi Esmaili has visited the State Hermitage Museum, especially the Iran section of the museum, located in Saint Petersburg, Russia.
Esmaili visited different parts of the museum while accompanied by the vice-chairman of the cultural committee of the Iranian parliament, Iran’s ambassador, and cultural attaché in Russia, among other diplomats.
During the visit, the minister met with the director of the State Hermitage Museum, Mikhail Piotrovsky.
Piotrovsky noted that the Hermitage hosts artifacts from different historical eras of Iran, calling the Iran section the “jewel” of the museum.
Referring to the cultural exchanges and collaborations of the museum with similar museums in Iran, he expressed his satisfaction with the development of relations between Iran and Russia.
Esmaili also welcomed Piotrovsky’s proposal for the expansion of cooperation and discussed some relevant issues.
