Kyrgyzstan takes part in opening of SCO Forum on People-to-People Friendship and Forum of Friendship Cities

Bishkek, June 16, 2023. / Kabar /. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic Edil Baisalov took part in the opening of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Forum on People-to-People Friendship and the Forum of Friendship Cities, which is being held in Qingdao, Shandong Province (People's Republic of China).

In his speech, Edil Baisalov noted that people's diplomacy plays an important role in the joint response to the challenges of our time.

“We live in a time when the challenges we face are becoming more and more global. Climate change, economic instability, the fight against terrorism and security concerns require us to strengthen our cooperation and search for joint solutions. And at such moments, it is important to turn to the principles that unite us in the SCO: mutually beneficial cooperation, respect for the sovereignty and inviolability of our states, as well as mutual trust and understanding. The Forum on People-to-People Friendship and the Forum of Friendship Cities give us the opportunity to discuss these issues and find ways for cooperation in the interests of all our peoples,” he said.
