Osh city of Kyrgyzstan to develop bilateral ties with Japan’s Osaka

Osh, June 14, 2023. / Kabar /. A meeting was held on Tuesday between Deputy Mayor of Osh city Zamir Yusupov and Honorary Consul of the Kyrgyz Republic in the Osaka Prefecture of Japan Bunno Takashi.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the prospects for bilateral cooperation in the development of economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, educational programs, and interaction in order to establish sister city relations.

Bunno Takashi spoke about his activities as an Honorary Consul, highlighting the event for the celebration of Nooruz in the city of Osaka for the citizens of Kyrgyzstan, where 70% of the participants were from Osh. In this regard, it was proposed to develop bilateral twinning relations with the city of Osaka, the second largest city in Japan.

In his welcoming speech, Yusupov expressed gratitude on behalf of Mayor of the city of Osh Bakytbek Zhetigenov and all the inhabitants of the city of Osh and noted that the Mayor's Office is open to the development of bilateral cooperation.

"Osh has sister city relations with 23 cities of near and far abroad and is ready to carry out joint projects and initiatives in the economic, educational, cultural, trade and other fields on the way to establishing sister city relations with the city of Osaka. To this end, we consider it necessary to conclude a memorandum of intent on cooperation," Yusupov noted.

For this purpose, the Japanese delegation was invited to an official reception for the celebration of Osh City Day.
