Latvian companies interested in importing food products from Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek, June 14, 2023. / Kabar /. Latvian distributors are interested in importing food products from Kyrgyzstan, the press service of the National Investment Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

Kyrgyz businessmen discussed the possibilities of import deliveries to Latvia and other European countries at the business forum "New Trade Opportunity between Central Asia and Latvia", which was held in Riga.

As part of the business forum, meetings were held with leading Latvian companies, as well as associations of forwarders, logisticians and road carriers, with representatives of stevedoring companies.

The Kyrgyz delegation also visited the Free Port of Riga, the Free Port of Liepaja and the Port of Klaipeda in Lithuania, where they discussed the possibility of using storage facilities on a preferential basis for further export to the countries of the European Union.

The possibilities of creating new forms of interaction between road carriers of Kyrgyzstan and participants in maritime transport along the multimodal Trans-Caspian corridor were also discussed.

The Kyrgyz Republic was represented at the forum and meetings by a delegation of 10 domestic food producers and logistics companies.
