More than 4 Million Documents enrich King Abdulaziz Foundation

Riyadh, June 15, SPA -- King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and
Archives contains more than 4 million local and Arab documents as
well as tens of thousands of Ottoman, American, British, French,
Dutch, German, Indian, Russian and Italian documents.

The Foundation also includes 3000 local original manuscripts, 68,000
photos, 720 video-tapes and 1,613 audio-tapes that document events,
personalities and places in the history of Saudi Arabia and the
Arabian Peninsula.

The Foundation established in 1972 has recorded at the center of
oral history more than 5,000 interviews with elderly people narrating
memories about their lives and the society.

Prince Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of Riyadh region has been
appointed by a royal decree as Chairman of Board of Directors of the
Foundation which has diversified its scientific efforts and
activities to meet the urgent need for further scientific research in
the national history and the history of Arab and Islamic world.
